At Sadler Family Practice and Manassas Addiction Center in Manassas, we provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric medication management for children, adolescents and adults. Our goal is simple: help you feel and function better with a plan that’s safe, personalized, and easy to follow. We combine careful prescribing with whole-person primary care—so your mental health, sleep, hormones, and general wellness are addressed together.
- Depression, dysthymia, and seasonal mood concerns
- Anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, and trauma-related stress
- ADHD (adolescents and adults)
- Bipolar spectrum (maintenance care for stable patients)
- Peri-/post-partum and perimenopausal mood changes
- Insomnia and related sleep issues
- Thorough initial visit (60–75 min). We review your history, current symptoms, past responses to medications/therapy, medical conditions, and goals. We may use screening tools (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, ADHD scales) and order labs when appropriate.
- Personalized medication plan. We discuss options, expected benefits/timelines, common side effects, and monitoring. When useful, we coordinate therapy referrals, sleep strategies, nutrition, and hormone evaluation.
- Follow-up and measurement-based care. Short visits (typically every 2–6 weeks early on) track progress and adjust the plan. Once stable, we space visits out while continuing maintenance and relapse prevention.
- Collaboration. With your permission, we coordinate with therapists, specialists, and schools/employers as needed.
- Medication evaluation and ongoing prescribing
- Side-effect counseling and safety monitoring
- Lab work when indicated; pharmacogenetic testing when appropriate
- Therapy referrals and care coordination
- In-office and telehealth options for Virginia residents
- Convenient e-prescribing and refill management
- Thoughtful use of controlled medications. Stimulants and benzodiazepines are prescribed when clinically appropriate and after a comprehensive evaluation. We follow Virginia’s Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP), use treatment agreements, and may request periodic urine drug screens.
- No same-day controlled-substance starts at first contact without a full evaluation and appropriate documentation.
- Refills and follow-ups require keeping scheduled visits so we can ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Crisis care. We do not provide emergency or inpatient services. If you’re in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department.
